Created by husband and wife team Alan Kwon and Sandy Ho, Fishcake Design is a Chicago-based letterpress and graphic design studio, specializing in handmade custom invitation suites, stationery and other paper goods. The pair met in New York City, where they connected over a mutual devotion to food, great design and adventure. They continue their explorations, traveling the world – Nicaragua, South Korea, Italy, Vietnam and more – and adding to their stores of inspiration. 

Like Sandy and Alan, the Fishcake aesthetic is fun and playful. It combined witty text with adorable illustrations to bring a little humor to sweet nothings. 

Skilled in the art of vintage letterpress, Sandy and Alan make truly exceptional and high quality paper goods – pieces that remain as keepsakes. Their care and craftsmanship is particularly evident in the custom work they do. They take great pride in making unique and interesting pieces in collaboration with their clients, from concept to delivery. 

With Sandy's background in graphic design and illustration and Alan's experience as an art director, they conspired to create lines of stationery that tell a story – each card, a perfect marriage of art and copy. Started as a way to make wedding invitations for friends and family, Fishcake has grown to include a greeting card line, personal stationery and limited edition posters.
